Default airbag defect help!

hey guys, my mom who has a e92 (2011) and had a accident yesterday(btw she's all good). Her front bumper collided with another vehicle (not to much damage on the bumper, my guess it hit the senor) . The steering wheel airbag went off and also the passenger airbag around the door area, but there was no passenger, so i has wondering if this was a defect or something around that extend. The dealer is going to look at it on Monday or so. Sorry for writing on e60 forum didnt feel like making an e92 forum account. -thanks in advance

There is a seat occupation sensor in the base of the passenger seat. If there is no one sitting there, there is obviously no need to deploy an airbag on that side. There is no fault with the car.
