I have a 2008 535xi. I cannot get the temperature to be different between the passenger and driver sides. The temperature setting has not effect on the passenger side, the air temp is always what is set on the drivers side. The dealer said this is normal. I cannot believe it is...any ideas?

This may or may not be related to your issue, but I was getting pissed and ready to take my car in. I felt no matter what I did to the temp knob, my car wouldn't cool down to my satisfaction. I remembered a warm/cool setting on my old 3 series which made me think.....Then I found out that you have to set your idrive climate settings from warm(red) to cool (blue). Once I did this, the a/c blew like a dream! This is my 1st E60 and first spring/summer so I'm chalking it up to being a newbie Good luck!

what he said, normal auto AC has one temp for both sides plus a cooler/normal/warm setting in the climate menu on the idrive screen, auto Ac with advanced featurs has two temp controls one for passenger and one for driver

Instead of clicking away through the iDrive, if you want to have a direct access to where you adjust warm/cold and how much intensity you want, just press the Auto button... and hey presto you're in that meny. Works as a "Favorites", sort of.
