My Ride: 2005 545i | Jet black/black | Sports Package | Navigation | BlueTooth
Hey guys, first off let me say 'hello' to everyone, I am somewhat of a new member here. I live in Houston, and the weather out here is horrible (108-110 heat index) so this is a big plea for help .
I am unsure if this is a common problem with most cars, or bmws or anything.
Anyways, I have a 2005 545i and my air conditioning acts kinda weird. When I have all 4 vents (driver/2 middle/passenger) open, the 2 passenger side vents blow out hot/warm air, while the 2 driver side vents blow out cold air.. however, when I close the ONE PASSENGER (one closest to the door) vent and leave the other 3 open, all 3 vents blow out COLD air.
I checked the iDrive and checked the temp controls and it is turned up to the blue all the way. I changed the cabin filter not too long ago also.
Just wanted to see if anyone has come across this problem or if anyone has any suggestions before I end up bringing it to the stealership to get it worked on.

From what I've read, the AC system will favor the drivers side in the case of a low refrigerant situation. Sounds like you may need to simply have your AC system recharged.

I had similar strange AC responses and after 3 trips to dealer, they cleaned the cabin temp sensor air intake (left of centre on AC control pannel on dash) which seem to have solved problems.
