In UK.There are two types of air con control unit for the E60. The advance one is optional extra.Unfortunally my car equipped with the basic control unit which look 20 years behind. My question is if i can just replace the advance control unit to my basic unit or more parts require ?

Our money or BMW profits?
Well, funny thing is if I assume correctly, is that both are automated air conditioning systems, but the advanced one, has some extra functions. Nevertheless, the normal one, has knobs that resemble, old air-con systems, that were not automated.
I think this is not very nice...

In my meaning the standard AC works great and it is easy to handle.
To Marcusleung,
Let your friend with his E M-B laugh, let's see who laughes the most when his cars brakes fade out and the car starts to rust in a year or so.
The E class is comperative the the E60. The S-class to the 7-series.
