I can't believe I was so stupid as to put unleaded fuel in the 535d!!!!......too early in the morning for me.
Fortuntely realised my error at only 10 litres. Waited 1 hr for garage mechanic to open up workshop..
Mechanic removed back seat and unscrewed sender unit to pump out petrol...great everything looking OK.
Pushed car back to fuel pump and brimmed it
Who's left that tap running I think to myself as I stand in an growing puddle of diesel... Sh*t!!!
The sender unit seal was leaking!
Tightened up sender, refilled and all OK
All fine until I looked at fuel gauge 10 miles down the road.... only showing 3/4 full "Oh b**loks it,s pouring out again", pulled over and crawled underneath..All Ok.
So who can help?
It possibly appears that by disconnecting the sender unit and reconnecting it, has upset the calibration, does anyone know how to re-calibrate it????
