My 2004 BMW 530i is coming up on 100K.
I've been buying OEM everything, but now I am starting to possibly reconsider.
Is it ok to get an aftermarket air filter?
What about an aftermarket oil filter?
Who are the cheap online BMW parts dealers these days? Still just Newport BMW and Tisher?

I've found some good prices on filters for my wife's MB here:
http://www.autohausaz.com/
They sell filters made by Mann, which from what I've read are actually OEM.

i use...
MANN oil filters (buy in bulk to save more and you will always need an oil change anyways)
BMC air filter (only need one... pretty much forever)
For microfilters I still use BMW ones since they arent that much more over non-OEM ones
and gary is lower than other dealers but if you used the internet and know the part numbers you want then you will see an even bigger gap in prices
I am about to buy a transmission pan/filter for 169 with a new pan bolt (just in case)
realoem is 259.22
gary was 226
the part i am getting may not be OEM but its as good
and i save moneys!!

go with the MANNs and the charcoal activated ones are worth the extra buck or two.

Hi,
http://www.eurocarparts.com/
They do quality stuff
Filters are all by aftermarket companys
Their actual car parts are from the same manufacturer as original just without the badge and alot cheaper
I've used these guys for years and they've always been top notch
Cheers
