This is my first car with an automatic gearbox and having read about brake torqeuing on this forum I have been trying it out.

I've done a couple of starts with DSC enabled which went great - actually got brief wheelspin immediately followed by a VERY hard start - nice

After reading znods posts in particular about runs with DSC off I thought I would give it a go today.

The roads were lovely and dry so I picked a likely spot and pulled up on a 60mph 'b' road.

I brake torqued to 2000rpm (so I would have all 500nm ready to go) - then lifted off and simultaneously floored the accelerator.

Instead of tearing off into the sunset - my car stayed absolutely still whilst the back wheels span and the RPM needle shot straight up to the red-line and stayed there for 2-3 seconds.

In the end I just eased off the gas and gently pulled away......

Thank god no-one was watching
nice.

Znod what about diesels as the torque is enormus, soon will have 600Nm

I did a brake torque today and the rear end slid a little to the right. After a couple of brake torque, my brakes momentarily squeezes too.

Good one. I imagine you were pretty impressive. I wish I could have seen the show. Not surprising in a torquemiester like the 535d.
I only have the 218 BHP 530d.

I imagine that the 535d would sit there spinning the wheels all day - until the tyres caught fire

As regards 'seeing the show' I would have felt better if I had MEANT to do it - but it's a cool trick anyway
