Aftermarket ones cost S$200. It has no visual and only for the rear.
Teo Tian Seng, parallel importer for E60 includes PDC and cruise control as free options for 520i.

At that price, they better get it right. It took them a long time till Nov to sort this out. Was told need to order the right stuff from factory when the car is ordered. True or false, it's too complicated and expensive for me. I stick to after market version which came free from my sales. (cheaper than the U$40 quoted. )

I know my sales paid for it (or rather I indirectly paid for it, you know what I mean).

That's nice of TTS. But is "tropical spec" in? Or is it really that important?

On PDC, I perhaps may reverse the car about 4 times a day, I don't go tight places often, and I am used to watching out of the side mirrors rather than the screen, so I thought better of it (for now, that is).

Well I figure if you have the bumpers, then order the sensors, and have them wire the PDC, I am sure the main cluster of wires that go the Idrive screen probably has a PDC lead.

My guess this should not cost more than $800 if you already have the PDC bumpers, and with the M5 sport pkg they do.

Peace

This isn't how things work these days. There aren't individual leads for each system coming out of each component (like the "good old days").

The iDrive screen interfaces with a bus and everything else interfaces with the bus so you're answer is correct in a round-about way. I'm guessing the PDC wires need to connect to the bus somewhere and then the software has to figure out that the sensors are connected to display the graphical PDC screen. A software update may or may not be needed.
