I posted a few days ago about an issue with my headlights where my driver side only turns on the daytime running lights and my passenger side only turns on high beams.
I checked out the wire harness and it looks good. I also checked all connectors and fuses and they look good.
My guy told me its the module/ballast but when I look under the headlight theres two:
Rectangular with yellow sticker saying Xenon Vorschaftgerat 12V & a smaller square-shaped BMW 6 934 836
At this point I dont want to spend $400+ for each headlight so I want to see which module I should replace or if I should just change both.
Just swap the suspect ballast from one side to the other. When the problem follows the ballast, change that one.
And don't forget to look inside those lights for signs of deteriorating wiring insulation - it's a virtual plague with these cars, and could be causing your problems.

Thanks I didnt think of that til now. I swapped both xenon and adaptive ballasts and now driver side is good and passenger side has no lights, so I will be ordering those parts in a bit.
you getting any water in your headlights? that connection looks quite corrded. look into that or else youll be ordering another ballast soon. ask me how I know lol.
You may get real lucky...try cleaning up all the crap in the connector...and it's mate. Then see if it works. It could be there is enough stray electrical conducting through the crap to make it not work.
