I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what was wrong my 535xi it is throwing an Adaptive headlight failure I drive. I start the car I can see them leveling up and down and back and forth but after about 2 minutes it throws the error.

Possible that the headlight wiring is becoming brittle and beginning to break. This happened to my left front headlight. Everything works but my daytime running light on the left and the highbeam bulb.

What about when you take a corner at night? Can you see the headlights turning around the corner with the car?
If so, its most likely just faulty wiring even though the adaptive headlights are still working. I'm guessing they still turn with the car around corners if they level in all directions when turning the car on.
Otherwise, it could be the control unit.

well seems like the problem is there, now does it come on when just using the normal mode with out the adaptive head lights? i'd assume so as it sees it being bad. normal mode is when you don't have it on auto if you weren't sure.
sounds like you need new headlight set-up $$$$$
