"Guest" puzzles me.
"Guest," has Bangle sent you here? You seem like some sort of BMW propaganda clown. Kindly identify yourself, please. Your credibility is at issue.

I mean, hell, you sound like some sort of mechanical engineer or something. We don't know much about you except that you despise the previous generation 5-series, which was a venerable (albeit outdated) automobile, to put it lightly. Show us your credentials, and maybe I'll concur with your stream of consciousness ramblings.

I don't even know anything about you, just that you drive a 545 and you're not the happiest AS user on the forum...

I don't really care who it is, as long as it is a good discussion...

I just get slightly sideways with some unknown idiot who questions my credibility and lectures me on the principles of mechanical engineering simply because I start a post regarding: 1. an issue that seems to be an actual "issue" with the car in question and; 2. an opinion that I have regarding a car that's the subject of this forum.

And, as a postscript, I'm not sideways with you, Iceman. I just wanted some input on how to address my problem, even though it's been discussed before, some time ago. I value your opinions highly, of course.

It seems to be an actual issue with the car in question? I never heard about the total loss and lock of the steering before, and you say the engine stalled too... So it doesn't seem to be an AS issue, it seems something else went wrong. I agree that you have a problem there, but it's not AS. AS will never just lock the steering if it fails.
