As I drove in slowly thru the gate pass of my residential area, a warning message popped up "Active Steering Faulty" on iDrive and the icon of Faulty Active Steering lighted up at the dashboard. After a few hours, I restarted the car and it was back to normal.

This morning as I was coming down a slope in the carpark and turned, the same message and icon popped up. After that, I did feel the difference in the 'sensitivity' of the steering as I park the car.

Anyone experience this or with any advise?

I had this and they replaced the stearing wheel sensor. Then they had to reprogram the car which updated all my software.

Thanks for the response.

Went to BMW for a check-up today. No fault detected. They did a wheel alignment and asked me to come in if the warning lights up consistently.
