I love it. Almost crashed a new Audi A4 when i tried it, because i had to turn the wheel like four times in a sharp turn at low speed.

when i was test driving e60s during my purchase, the first one i drove didn't have one and i was alright with it because i was used to the benz with the heavy steering then when i was able to try one with AS i said this is what i want. Love it.

My thought when I ordered my car is "if I never had it {active steering}, then I won't miss it."
I have never driven a car with active steering, so I cannot say if it is "better", but I do not have any problems steering now. Not a smart ass answer... just the way my mind works.

The first 550 I drove had it. I did not notice it. Then I drove a 550 without it and WOW what a difference! As mentioned, the only issue is getting into a car without it - then you realize what you are missing.

Our e60 has it and our e90 does not. Being we live in an urban environment I really like it for in-city driving. It makes the car feel a lot smaller and maneuverable.

While the e90 has been getting some work done, my wife has been driving my e60 which she normally thinks it too big and never liked to drive. The other day she came home after having my car for the day and asked how come my car steers so much quicker than hers. I presumed she liked the feel by the tone of her question. The point is she is not as informed on the BMWs and she really noticed the difference and appreciated its value.

I feel a far more connected driving experience without the active steering than with it. I also had the system cut out on me a few times with my 545i. That was a primary reason for getting rid of that vehicle.

Nobody mentioned what I think was its primary purpose. When you are drivings quickley through S turns or a road course, you do not have to take your hands off of the steering wheel to negotiate turns. This gives you better control and feedback. Without AS you are doing the hand-over-hand to make some of the turns.

LOVE IT. Living in an urban environment really brings out the usefulness of it.... The new Audi A4 also has this feature, I'm sure MB will follow suit soon.

Drove a friend's 5 without AS, wow, the difference is AMAZING!

Maybe its not sure a good thing, cause it really makes you lazy....
