I have active steering in my 335 and don't care for it. I've found a '09 535 sport with a manual and it has AS. What are some opinions on it in the 5 series? thanks

I have it on my 550i - I like it! I really appreciate it when parking and lower-speed tight stuff. Took a little getting used to, but no troubles once you get past that initial impulse to give it too much steering influence too quickly.

Whenever I get a loaner with X-Drive I realize how great active steering is. BMW's with X-Drive feel like you are driving a truck ( even the 330XI)
My 2005 545ia handles so well with active steering, I would never get another car without it.To me it's the top feature of this car. 152,000 miles on it and it still handles smooth as a cat. All you need are 4 good snow tires to enjoy this car in the winter.

Like mine a lot. Sure is nice in tight slow driving situations. I have a 328xi loaner right now and missed my E60 as soon as I pulled out of the dealer this morning w/o active steering. Also, with temps around -15F this morning the non-active 3 series steering seems to takes a few miles of driving to warm/loosen up.
