Active Cruise Control (UK)

Anyone (preferably in the UK) with ACC ? Is it any good or do our road conditions here not make it a workable soultion ? Any comments and/or advice appreciated ...

The stop and go is especially good in traffic jams. I'm sure others will say that it doesn't follow closely enough at speed, but I think that the closest setting is plenty close enough. Sure it leaves enough room for some plonker to pull in front of you particularly in heavy moving motorway traffic, but then people do this providing theres a cars length gap available which is hardly a "safe" distance.
Personally, I wouldn't use it unless on a fast / fairly straight road (got a couple of A roads I use (oh and some motorway interchanges) where the bends make the car think the vehicle in front has gone!) and I don't tend to use it in heavy motorway traffic thats moving at speed because of the above mentioned plonkers and also because it can be a little bit slow in reacting to when cars are moving in front of you or when they get out of the way. But for any other time it's great.
This is probably one of my "wouldn't go without" options for future purchases (where available).

Yep and I use it regularly. Can't see how cruise control is worth having in the UK unless it's active?

I drove totally relaxed all the way back from Ramsgate to Maidenhead using the ACC and only had to touch the brakes once for a "considerate" driver.
