Default Acceleration Sensor

Hey All,

I recently had my ride into my Indy to have several things taken care of and one of the things I asked to have looked at is a service notification of

"Dynamic Drive Failure"

Turns out the vehicle has an acceleration sensor fault. Seems simple right? Well it is but for about $900...

Can this fault cause poor fuel to air mixture causing poor fuel economy? If the computer doesn't know the position of the accelerator and deliver too little or too much fuel during driving? How vital is it that I get this issue taken care of? Thanks!

The acceleration sensor is not for engine control and is not the accelerator pedal sensor for throttling engine. I believe on your car it is integrsted with the yaw and lateral acceleration sensors. IT is one of the inputs to control the Dynamic Drive Active Roll Stabilization system.

Well, that makes sense. I've been driving the car for 6 months now with the fault, how vital is it the I get the part replaced?

I'm having the same problem, I just changed the sensor but I am still having DSC problems. If you are not a spirited driver it won't make a difference but it does help in the snow. You don't have to fix it but it gets really annoying.
