My Ride: BMW 2004 E60 530i
Default ACC, Navi and Rear Camera

Hello everyone, my car is 2004 530i (Production Date: Oct 2003)

I tried to find my answers from existing posts but couldn't find what I was looking for. There are many threads about ACC malfunction but I couldn't find any DIY for replacing it. I had to get rid of mine since it was too costly to replace. Now the problem is that I don't have any cruise control and i have an error in my idrive "ACC malfunction". I am wondering if I can put some kind of resistor to eliminate the error from my idrive? if yes, can someone please explain how and what type of resistor can I use?

Also, I don't have a navi and rear camera option in my idrive and I am wondering if I can install it by purchasing a DVD drive and somehow have it activated in my idrive. Did someone try it?

Can someone please help me out with these issues.

Thanks

Are you sure you had ACC? I didn't think it was an option on your year. If you think that was expensive you'll be shocked at what it will cost to add nav to yours. Do some research on M-ASK to CCC upgrade/retrofits. No, you can't just buy a Dvd drive and activate it. You will need the the whole IDrive unit, screen, controller plus the extras.

Yea I am pretty sure that I have ACC because it stopped itself and kept a safe distance. Also, I have "ACC Malfunction" error in my idrive. Can it be disabled from idrive even though I don't have cruise control module installed?

I looked into CCC and I got quotation for arnd $4000. I thought people upgrade to CCC because they want newer idrive with hard drive. I am fine with current idrive since it does the job well. I don't think its worth spending that much money for Nav and couple of other features.

I have PDC which it amazing but I was wondering if someone tried installing backup camera in this model? and if there is a DIY available?

Thanks

Yep thats about the price. A little cheaper if you do it all yourself. No, it can't be disabled in IDrive. Basically you can't do much in IDrive, if you use the odometer reset you can reset your service reminders. Disabling things like this will take coding to override. The backup camera has been done many a time, do a quick search and you'll find plenty of results.

Check if the sensor is seated correctly. I had the error pop up for a while but that was because due to some mishap, the sensor had dislodged itself from the alignment pins slightly. When it was placed back it still gave the error for a day or two but then the error went away and the sensor is working perfectly.
