Default ac drain lines clogged?

do you guys see water from ac condenser on the ground after you've parked the car? I have 2 550's and both have odor smell when I start the car. Is there an easy way to tell if condenser drains are plugged, like removing cabin filters and pouring water inside?

I do not and I've often wondered why that is. I do not have that musty smell either though and I have a 2008 w/76k on it. I do have a blower fan issue where it squeaks badly when its below freezing outside or when I have the a/c on and I've wondered if that is somehow related?

thanks for sharing this. I didn't have that smell until this year. Both cars have low mileage 33k on mine and 27k or 28k on my wife's. Watching my other cars there is quite a bit of water being dumped down. I know that plastic shield is covering those drain tubes and it is a pain to get to them.

If you take the cabin filters out and pour water , it will drain out behind the front wheels . I think the ac drain is on the passenger side of the transmission . If you can locate it , try running some weed wacker wire up the hose to clear the gunk out of the hose ..

Those things are about impossible to get to.

There are two one on each side near the top of the trans tunnel.

here is a picture with a SMG transmission about to be re-installed.

Yes this is with the trans pulled down!

great picture! With such design I wouldn't be surprise if every e60 has them plugged in. Can this be done withour removing the reinforcement plate? http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...ld_Removal.htm
