The AC in my car is always on on ignition.
Is there a way to disable this function and turn it on manually whenever there is a need?

Thanks for your help,

It should be remembered by your key if it was on or off when you locked the car the last time.
If the A/C was on it will be on when you use the key the next time.

Since you are from UAE, I'm not sure about the programming in 5ers delivered there. As for mine (US), the AC is always ON when you turn on the engine regardless of what you do prior to turning off the engine. The AC does have a short memory.

I think we beat this around once or twice before, but I thought we agreed that at least in US SPEC, if you had it pressed to OFF than after sleep mode it would revert to on in some form of full AUTO or some slight variation. But if you go out of AUTO into any manual individual settings such as AC off and set say the blower to minimum or any manual setting it would remain that way when restarted even after sleep mode.

To get arround this annoying characteristic I keep the blower speed on minimum. The disadvantage of the car's over-reliance on computer run systems is their apparent inability to retain any memory passed 30 mins. AC is an example, but so is heated seats.
