I think my AC is not working, but I thought I'd check to see if there was a control I'm missing. I bough this car in November as a CPO. It supposedly had two CPO checks, one in November, and one in July. Its black/black. It was 37 degrees and sunny yesterday. The vents alone we not enough to cool the car while wearing a jacket, even when turn up nearly all the way. It seemed the top vent on the drivers side needed to be turned down, since that was getting warmed through the black dash. Kicking on the AC didn't seem to do anything. I wonder if they have it turned off under a certain temp, or have a long delay, or something? The air on my old 328i was a constant problem in its later years, so I'm hoping this isn't a dealer issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the temperature setting of your air vents via the i-drive controler in the "Climate" menu?

I see only fan controls there - nothing about temperature. Is that what you mean?

Chriscpm:
In the same screen, showing fan controls, there is also a heat adjustment. To the left of the fan control there are blue, white and red bars. More blue bars the cooler the middle vent blows. More red bars, warmer air from middle vent. It works like a charm, welcome to the forum.

stavros is right... On the I-Drive, under climate there are three lines that can be adjusted. The top is for fan speed, I think for the main dash vents and the bottom is for fan speed for the footwell. If I remember correctly, the middle is for the temp for the dash vents. It goes from blue to red. It is a setting to blow cooler air in your face while the heater is on to keep you awake while driving (according to the user manual). If yours is all the way to the red side, then you won't get much cool air out. I set mine to the middle and it blows the same temp as the footwell. My memory is a little foggy on this because I set mine when I got my car about two months ago. I hope this helps!!!
