I haven't seen above 91 here in the US in quite some time. In fact, traveling to the midwest, i believe some states don't even offer that high of octane rating. Anyway, here in cali, at least on the coast, i normally see 87, 89, and 91 avaiablae at pumps. I recall seeing 92, but i'm positive it was here.

What ratings have y'all seen worldwide?

In Germany there are very high octane rates available.

- Super has AFAIK 92 octane
- Super Plus has 95 octane
- Shell V-Power has 100 octane

As you can see, it's true

100??? ya-hoo!!!

I haven't changed the octane in my 530, but i have in my jeep and i can tell a difference betwen 87 and 91...the jeep's a little quicker (barely) and i seem to get a little worse mpg.

In the UK 95 is "standard", 98-100 is premium. Pretty much all garages will have both. However, for some reason we pay a much higher premium for premium (~4-5p per litre) than it is common in the rest of Europe.

BTW - all those are theoretical octane numbers (like those in the US). A while ago a car magazine did tests showing that we are lucky if we get real 91 and 95. It's been a while, and I can't even remember which magazine it was, so perhaps things have changed.

They do sell 100 octane at select gas stations in LA. It cost like $5/gallon.

Nope. I was supposed to at the Angelus Crest Meet back in June but forgot. I know that member rodybmw has. I'm planning on filling it up with 100 for the drive up to SLO for the Central Cali Meet.
