Going to do a search here. I would like to hear from anyone who went aftermarket, did not register/program and if they had any problems.

I think dealer is trying to scare me into buying from them.

I just came back from AutoZone. I was going to buy the Duralast Gold 95R-DLG but when I had my original battery checked, they said it's good. What's going on... did the dealer leave all my lights on and tried to sell me a battery!!!

Go with the aftermarket battery. Here's the truth about the battery registration. It basically tells the alternator the amp it should charge the battery at. Apparently it's different from when the battery is new vs. old. I got mine from Sears and put it in myself for $124. No problems whatsoever in the 9 months since i put it in WITHOUT coding. It comes with a 36 month replacement warranty and 72 month conditional warranty. I figure if it dies again in 3 years, I'd have a new battery which is a win. If it dies after 5 years, i'd be happy to spend another $124 for a new one vs. $550 with coding which is a win. A WIN WIN in my book.

I just had my battery replaced yesterday with a auto repair shop that?s very trustworthy and reasonable in pricing they installed my battery for about $190 my first battery made it a little over six years. I went to start it on morning and it gave me a quick crazy light show on the displays then nothing so it was time to replace.

They are. Go to pep boys or walmart, get the battery and change it out. I can do registration for you next week sometime when I'm back if you have an appropriate cable and laptop to connect to the car. Or you can find another member on here to do it. Maybe $50 or so.

Got my battery from Autozone for around $100-$120 and never got it "registered" and it has been working fine. That was about 3-4 months ago.

LOL $1000???? Do they ask you to get on all 4s before paying for that?

I paid $140 for mine at Autozone, they refused to install it though because they are afraid they would be responsible if they messed it up. The battery is freaking massive.

They don't call it the "STEALERSHIP" for nothing. That is just asinine.
