i'm paying $2.46/gallon, premium (92), self serve. only one gas station provide full service w/o extra charges but i don't know which brand they are using . other full services charge close to $3/gallon . but still a bargain for our european members .

oh, peterf, jimbo is right. better yet, you can add some 100 octane instead of "regular" premium.

Thanks everyone for your replies -- at least I don't seem to have much to worry about. I have seen the thread about 100 octane in Europe, but I haven't seen it anywhere here -- is it available in the US as well?

Our octane numbers are different than the US, I think GER 100 octane is 94 US octane... If I remember it right...

Man, we're paying $2.30 a gollon here in SoCal. SELFSERVE!

I really like full serve though.? Nothing beats having some pumping gas for you on a rainy day.? I hate wetting my carpet. ? Otherwise, I prefer to pump my own gas.

I can't even remember the last time we had a rainy day in Los Angeles! And by the way, look again at the price we are paying in Los Angeles, it changes hourly!

Thank you. I gotta tell you all, this is one of the best forums around. Everyone seems so helpful. I learned so much useful information from this forum before I purchased my car. One example is the rear window metalized tint which causes static. Wish I had known that last year when I bought the 330i and had it tinted. I now have an appointment for Huper Optik film for the 545i. Thank you all and hope to meet some of you soon. Jim
