My odo read 66,666 miles

AND (Roy, you're gonna wanna see this ) I saw some purple bird sh1t on my car

Omenous, to say the least

so I decided to do a little service.

Now, I've already done the following service in the past 3-5k miles:

-spark plugs (OEM Bosch)
-air filter (BMC+RPI Scoop)
-cabin filters
-new battery (OEM)
-AC cleaning (klima cleaner)
-MAF sensor cleaned
-new brakes (Centric drilled+slotted rotors + Hawk HPS Pads all around)
-replaced floor mats

Not too shabby, methinks

and with all the above already done, I was basically reduced to not much more than just an oil change.

Drove out to a dealership and scored myself 8 qts of BMW 5w30 (at wholesale discount, mind you, thank you very much )

FYI: N52 in the 530Xi takes 7.2 qts - yes, 7.2! The guy at the dealership wanted to just give me 7 bottles, but I bought 8. Why? To have some extra - for when I need to add some. Besides, I actually put in exactly 7.2 qts in LOL

Also picked up the OEM oil filter and for kicker, broke out the Blackstone Labs jar, that I had ordered and received a few days back:

the Blackstone kit comes with the instructions and special packaging for mailing the sample back:

Went to my favorite local indie and ordered up the oil change along with the filling of the ceremonial Blackstone Labs vile. There's my girl right after getting her oil:

After that, I went home and whipped myself up some peasant food:

and chilled

ahhh, the simple life

Here's a parting shot of my baby taking it easy in the shade:

Gonna send in that Blackstone labs sample and wait for results now

Thanks for looking

Seem like a lot looking back at it. I did all of it one-by-one, getting the parts at discount and trying to save everywhere I could. All in all, save for the thermostat and the belt (which means also pulleys and tensioners and whatnot), I think its pretty much done with the "scheduled maintenance".

It took me a while to convert to miles when I came to the States, reverse conversion is just going to confuse me at this point

And that's a total of five remotes, thank you Its all because my PS3 has a Bluetooth remote and there isn't a universal remote that would control it. Yet. At least that's what I tell myself
