My Ride: 2004 530i, Silver Gray, Premium Pkg, Cold Weather package, Black Leather seats with lumbar support, Poplar wood finish.
Mods: M6 19" wheels with 245/35/19 Front Tires 275/30/19 Rear Tires, K&N Filter, H&R Sway bars, Magnaflow Muffler, Sprint Booster, Black front grill, M-tech front bumper, Debadged
I am getting close to the 60K inspection on my 04' 530i.
I do my own oil changes/resets and recently got the tranny oil and brake fluid flushed. Also changed the cabin filters few months ago. The next in line are the brakes/rotors in 5 K miles.
Do I need to take it to a dealer for the inspection and what should I expect? I don't want to get ripped off
thanks

Skip it-not worth it if you are up to date on your maintence. I just manually reset the service icon so it looks like it was done. I have had my car in so many times for variosu fixes its been inspected to death!
At 60k you want the following done or if you had it done already great-
-tranny fluid change
-rear differential fluid change/flush
-coolant flushed
-spark plugs changed (I did mine at 40 and noticed a HUGE improvement in gas milage and throttle
-clean your MAF with CRC cleaner
-air filter/cabin filters
-Power steering fluid topped up
-alignment if you have never had one. I get one every 3 years-not every year like they rec.
-Fuel system clean/flush service-costs 150 bucks or so but they flush your injectors with high pressure and clean carbon off. If you dont already do this you should start using Chevron Techron fuel additive every oil change or so. But it at autozone as it is the same stuff bmw uses or bmw rebottles techron and usually dumps in a can during the 60k service. However you want the power flush which is basically taking a similar product and blasting out the fuel lines and injectors

Thanks much!
Tranny and Differential oil was changed earlier this year. I'll do the fuel treatment, MAF clean up and coolant flush to start with.
