That might be the original factory oil. But I went to Laakkonen service to buy a liter of oil just in case I need to top up and they sold me a can of Shell 0W40. I assume they use it when doing scheduled oil changes...
Yes, Laakkonen uses Shell but the factory Castrol...

I still wonder what is the oil (factory stuff) I have in the engine

That I know that the oil type is called "Long life" here in Europe, but is
it 0W30, 5W30, or 0W40

Maybe they all are OK, but I still would like to add the exacty same oil if
I need a small refill...

US manual for 545 and 550 calls for 5W-40 or 5W-30 synthetic oil.

I had to fill up the other day. Called my dealer and they said Castrol 5W30.
I was looking for the 0W30, but couldn't find it in any of the local stores.

When they did my official oil change afterwards, they refilled also with 5W30.

I did my own interim oil & filter change a couple weeks ago. I could not find any 5W-40 oil and I didn't want to use 5W-30 becasue it seems a little too thin to me, so I went with Mobil 1 0W-40. (It even says on the container that it is approved by BMW.) I had a slight lifter (at least I think it was one or more lifters) ticking when the engine was cold that seems to have gone away now. I am not sure that this is related or if the disappearance is permanent.
