The V8 TT will be avail. in the new X6 that BMW is coming out with. It either comes with the inline 6 TT or optional V8 TT in the near future.
If you pick up a brochure from the dealership regarding the new X6 it will discuss the engine within the brochure.
That's all I know currently and the info I can share from my perspective.

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. I have not seen ANY news about the V8 twin turbo that was on several sites a few months ago when BMW registered the 555 number. Was it all rumor?
Can anyone offer concrete information on if this REALLY exists and if so when BMW plans on implementing this motor and in which vehicles?

Although the V10 has 100 HP more that the TT V8, the TT V8 has 70lbs more torque and a much flatter torque curve. Peak Torque is only 383 lbs for the M5 and that is at 6100 rpm.
Doubt the TT V8 will be faster than the current M5 but the gap will be much reduced. The TT V8 has an additional 90lbs torque and 40 Hp over the existing 550i. My guess is that this is worth in the range of 1/2 second improvement in the 0-60 time over the current 550i

Yes, but you would need only 15 minutes and ?700 to make it faster than the M5 .
