My Ride: 550i 2009 Mod. with tints all around. Got Splitter and Spoiler coming. May do an exhaust.
...difference between the 08 and 09 as compared to the 06? Have the trannies been up graded? I imagine the LCI package is one up grade. Hummm Did the special ballaster Contour seats come in the 06? of just 07 up? Hummmm There has to be better components on the engine right? We are talking 2-3 years of new technology here. I am looking at 2 (now) 08 Carbon 550s. Thanks again for the magnificent support from E60!

The LCI 550s have the non-conventional-looking shifter (for the Steptronic models). The pre-LCI ones have a much more traditional auto shifter. The new one take a bit of getting used to (to go into reverse, you have to move the shifter forward) but it is manual easier to shift it manually than the pre-LCI shifter. I think I recall reading that the LCI odel got some softward upgrades to the auto trans that make it shift faster.
The 550's engine has always remained the same: 360 bhp, 360 lbs-ft of torque.
You will love the Comfort Seats that come with the LCI 550s. They are the most comfortable seats I have ever had.
Oh and perhaps most important of all...the LCI 550i Sports came up wth non-RFTs (summer Contis).
