Here are some pics from my weekend toy. Me and a manager swapped cars for the weekend. Its a 08 550i Sedan - Alpine White / Beige. He stays right by the plant and has had the car for almost two months and still hardly no miles. He wanted to swap so i could put some miles on it and i have! When i got it, the odometer was 1502! This is his 2nd 550i. His first 550, didnt have navigation but this one did!!

You know i havent really checked. I meant to clear it out when i got it. He had filled the car up with gas and i didnt even follow up on it. I do notice my fuel hand dropping a lot more than in my 535i.

Something thats weird, is that this car wont let me change the date in the i-drive nav screen. I have changed it three times and it stays there, until your cut the car off. Technology at its best.

What tires are those? I can't quite read the sidewalls in the pic--maybe just my monitor. Thanks.

All of these employee cars are not BMW's best. There is something wrong with all of them. My suspicion's were confirmed when I went to the BMW VDC and got into a conversation with 2 of the employees there. They've been with BMW for over 12 years each. They were telling me about the employee leasing program and how all of the cars that go to employees cant go to the public at first because none of them would pass their final inspections. There's something amiss with the cars. Once the employees are done with them which is almost always a year or less, they are then sold to dealers at a discount who can sell to the public at a discount with FULL disclosure. This explains all of the problems we've read about with bmwfan05"s cars and that of his coworkers. I always felt something was a bit weird about all of their documented issues. Nonetheless, nice perk to have.

Nah, they told you wrong. The cars that we use as "loaner" cars, and some of the cars that they use at the Performance Center are what your talking about. We custom order our vehicles, just like any customer would, Exterior, interior, model, options and packages. So there is no way that everyone of our cars that we custom order has a glitch in them. Most of the time the only we get cars that are "not BMW's best" is when a vehicle has suffered ship damage or damage at a port. In the case that it is one of our employee ordered cars, we then have a choice to take that car, or recieve a loaner until they build us another one!

As for the many problems i have had, i think its just bad luck or something. My wife doesnt have any problems out of her 335 and i have only had issues with my last two 535i's. Im getting a 528 soon, so maybe its just a 535 thing. Who knows!
