550i transmission fluid?

I have been researching what ATF is compatible with a 2006 550i. So far I have heard that Redline D4 is the most popular alternative to factory. It says that it is compatible with Shell M1375.4.
Has anybody had any experience with the Redline D4 tranny fluid? If not, what have you or do you use other than OE fluid? I just want to make sure I get the right and best fluid.

some use Pentosin ATF1
or zf lifeguard 6
many say you can even use the ford branded mercon sp
