It was strange seeing this thing. I thought, "Why is there a sticker for 'Climate' only and why must there be one in the first place?" The iDrive monitor clearly shows you a picture of the knob and the direction to push for each function.
Truly an idiot sticker.

When iDrive was first introduced, among the myriad complaints, apparently the most consistent one in the car mags was "you can't even adjust the temperature without going through a million steps" which we all know is BS, but they put this sticker in response.

My Ride: Ordered: 2006 530i on Oct 1st, and due Mid Nov. 6 speed Manual, Navagation, Premium pkg, Sport pkg, Cold Weather pkg, Prem. Sound Package, Titanium Silver, Black Dakota Leather, Dark Poplar wood. 18" 7 Spoke wheels (style 123), euro reflectors, Sat Radio installed.
Did they change the standard wheels yet on the 550i. I always cringe when i see the beauty of the e60 545i and the rather plain wheels of the standard set up. I hope I don't offend anyone, but why would BMW put beautiful wheels on a 530/525i but then skimp on the flagship 5? Never understoof this, I hope they keep the sport 545i wheels and ditch the standard wheel.
Anyone know?

for 2006, the 550 Sport still comes with the style 124 wheels. Mine have Bridgestone RFs.

too bad they didn't chage the standard wheel. I was just on BMW usa build site and low and behold, same ol wheel. Sports pack is a must in my opinion, since BMW offers nicer wheels on the sports pack. Same goes for the 530i. I like the standard wheel, but the sports wheel is so much nicer. I guess its all marketing.

My Ride: 2007 530i, white/black manual, sports package, nav, PDC, etc.
Ah, but is it the thicker sport steering wheel like they had with the E39s or the skinny one that comes with the E60?

Went to go look at it today (picking it up Saturday).....and noticed a small pleasant surprise.
The steering wheel isn't all black anymore, has silver trim on it (like the SMG steering wheel)....matches the shiftknob/i-drive knob.
I always liked that silver trim on the SMG wheel, small but really nice touch.
Not sure if its just for the 550i or applies to the rest of the 06 5series.
