BMWUSA site does not list the MPG figure on the 550i. I have a 545i, and am trading for a 550i. any numbers out there for the 550i with auto?
Not bad considering the same sticker for a 330xi step had 20 27.
Thats 105 extra horsepower for 3 less mpg on the city side.

I think the MPG gauges should be replaced with something more useful, like temp, and G-FORCE. When driving a V8, good MPG is not very promising.

I live in the city and on occasion get on the highway to visit clients in the suburbs. I am averaging 13.9-14.1 since new. I guess I drive my baby a little harder than most <_<

I would guess that your mileage for a 550 will not be very different than with your 545. Forget the mileage ... enjoy the extra power. ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)

I'm with you Tachyon. I have covered 2800 miles in my 550 and have yet to calculate fuel mileage.
Hell, I don't even check the price of the gasoline and how much it takes to fill up. Whatever it is, it's worth it. Of all the money I spend, none of it is better spent than re-filling my baby. I get repaid in smiles.

17.4 with mixed city and freeway and minor accelerations for fun. Trust me the power is so addicting you just want to go to 100+ mph for the hell of it. Highway is as advertised 25 mpg. The problem I think with the 5 series in general including the M5 is that it has to small of a gas tank. We need a 20+ gallon tank for this car. Average range after fill up is 350 miles.

350 miles ??!! I wish... try something like 280 if you get about 17 mpg average...
