550i Clutch Pedal Feel - "clunk"
#1
I noticed that when I push the clutch in the pedal itself gives a clunk feel during the throw about 3/4 of the way to pushing it to the floor. It doesn't really make a sound but it feels very odd to me. I wonder if its something to do with the clutch safety switch but wanted to check and see if this is supposed to feel this way. What do you guys with 6 speed's feel on your clutch pedal?

My clutch is smooth all the way to the ground, the only time I get a real clunk is when I release the gas too soon before the clutch..

Thanks for the replies but I'm not sure I explained it well.
For clarification -
1) I did do a CDV change
2) The car drives absolutely great.
3) The clunk that I feel is only in the pedal, it does not have any affect on the clutch / trans engagement - its literally in the pedal / arm
4) It happens during use while driving AND while at a standstill 100% of the time (doesn't come and go)
Does that make sense? This is one of those things that a non-OCD person might not even notice...?

Check the floormat. In my 3 series the clutch would sometimes catch on the floormat when the mat got out of position or the top part didn't sit flat.

If the actual clutch pedal assembly is clunking, it
might be a spring or something above the pedal that isn't sitting right, or some internal part of the assembly is making contact with another part that it shouldn't....try leaning into the footwell and see what happens when you move the clutch pedal...
