Thanks Brian.

For those looking for a new 08 550i, there is a gorgeous one sitting at United BMW in Roswell, GA (just outside Atlanta). It was special order and the guy didn't take it when the car came in. It has a ton of options, 6-speed and lists at $76,150. It has M5 mirrors and spolier too. It had 18 miles last I saw (I'm sure it's a little higher now). I know manuals are hard to come by on the lot (becuase they don't sell as well). The car has been there a little while and I think they are ready to deal. David Vlaun was helping me when I was looking. Ask for him if you call. Its a good option for someone looking for a manual that does not want to wait on a special order.

I chose the M5. I picked it up last night. I had 140 miles to drive before I got home and loved the entire drive. On paper, it is somewhat easy to pick apart some of the trade-offs for performance, but once you are in the car, none are apparent (except MPG) IMO. The M5 is an awesome piece of machinery (so is the 550) and is a joy to drive whether it is intown or on the highway.

The specs: 2007 M5, 11k miles, black/black, 6-speed, perf merino leather w/vented seats, comfort access, multi-function seats, power rear sunshade, fold down rear seats, heated rear seats, head-up display, HD radio, sat radio

Congrats. That baby sounds loaded. May I ask what something like that goes for?

Oh and no worries about trying to get a CPO one as BMW does not CPO the 2006+ M5 (unless things just changed -and per the bmwusa.com site I could not find one).

Yup....just what we need! Congrats on the ride!!

I am just starting to learn how to use mine as well. In fact, it's been in the garage since I got it Friday, for the most part. The weather here took a turn for the worse, and since I still have my 530xi for another week or so, what the hell....might as well get that dirty instead of the beast!

If you want speed, handling, and good MPG the 535 with Dinan flash might be the best answer. It's faster than the 550 and gets better gas mileage than either the 550 or M5. Plus, it's lighter and handles better.

Hmmmm...I can see the arguments starting to fly with these comments already!

Although, you do have a point with the gas mileage and being lighter....

Well, since you stirred it up... The 535i does NOT handle better than the 550i (if we're talking Sport models here), and sure as heck doesn't handle better than the M5!!

And rhe 535i is only about 2 to 3 MPG better than the 550i and with a flash I am sure it will be the same or worse.

Congrats on the M5, incredible car and will hopefully my next step up car.
