donv, vnod, now znod?

You mean Znod, of course.

Who's better than you?

Well, I thought about Zrod and Vrod, but that's a tad close to the Harley Vrod and the baseball player ARod, and there is a guy on the Z06 forum that goes by J-Rod. But, I have a Z06, and my first name backwards is nod. So, my alter ego Znod was born--having the flavor and, of course, the best attributes of Vrod, ARod, J-Rod, vnod, Zrod and donv--the best of all worlds. And, the Z adds a touch of Zorro--which reminds me of Robin Hood which reminds me of Batman and Robin which reminds me to the Winged Avenger which reminds me of Hawk Man, etc., etc.,--all of whom are very cool good guys.

Also, things like E60rod, E60nod, 5rod, Erod, Enod, BmrRod, Bmrnod, V545irod, Z545ier, 5errod, 5ernod, Z5rod, etc, etc. just didn't catch the spirit of what I was after for an alter ego.

Stoplight battles...
DS mode, DSC inactive, grippiest tires, quicker reaction time, distracting your opponent with banana peels won't hurt either!

Whatever it is, just don't do the "gay-rod" on us, OK?

Sometimes I just have no idea what you are talking about. I know about Golden Rod, rod and reel, hot rod, piston rod, lightening rod, fishing rod, tie rod, uranium (or plutonium) rod, etc. But, OK, what is (doing the) "gay-rod." Is it something like doing the hokey pokey or the bunny hop? Or maybe the frug, the Watusi, the swing, the dirty bop, or the stroll? me here.

Oh, I see. Nope, no gay-nod here. I don't follow the details of sports at all unless one of the Phoenix teams or Texas is doing something good. I'm definitely a fair-weather fan--at best.

well you're fortunate enough to have Gretzky in your fair city coaching your team. He is the greatest Canadian who ever lived, and as far as I'm concerned, the greatest athelte who ever lived! He exemplifies class and humility and his records speak for themselves! His Mother just died last week and he only returned to the team last night for a 5-4 win in San Jose!
ps...we're looking forward to kicking your guy's asses again in Turin
You're almost Gretzky-like on this forum Don! I have learned more from you then I thought possible on these cars! Have a good day!

Trev550i, thanks for the clarification on Gay-rod. I actually meant definition 2. Below is a link to the "urban dictionary:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?...od&defid=952531

"Small car (usually japanese) with loud exhaust, spoiler / wing, body kit, "NOS", fruity colors, a "cold air intake system (how useless), and are always extremely weak and very slow (0 - 60 in about five minutes). But for some reason, the driver claims it to be the fastest thing ever. Variation of the phrase "Hot Rod".The fast and the furious had a lot of gay rods.

Billy's purple lowered Honda Civic is the slowest car ever made but he picks up plenty of guys in it because it's a gay rod.

Look at the two fags too curious in the gay rod over there"

There's always somethig new. . . .

I don't know about the 750i not beating the 545i. It has the bigger engine, and on the street, I think it may even overtake the 545i since the Mags test are just point seconds apart. I'm still waiting for a 550i test result from anyone.
Me too. Anyone with a 550i want to buy a G-Meter and join in the G-Meter test fun in the "Parts, Accessories, and Mods" discussion?
IMO the 550 will be slightly faster to 60 than the 545,but maybe not as much as we would like.I'll list some reasons why it will only be marginally faster to 60
1-550 will be traction limited due to the extra torque and horsepower.Starts on my 545 are already a problem with traction.

Me too.

2-M1 gear ratio in the steptronic(4.17) is too low for the 545 & 550.It is more suited to the 525 & 530 because of the much lower torque & horsepower figures.Ideally should be about 3.50.

I am not sure about this one, but you may be right. When my car hooks up, the 4.17 feels good.

3-Standard tires for the 550 sport & non sport are the same as on the 545 which is already traction limited.A set of BFG drag radials on both cars would benefit the 550 more because of the higher power ratings.
After 60 mph I believe the 550 would steadily pull away from the 545.

I hope they don't pull away from my 545i at least after the Dinan CAI. The 550's and some others are in my sights. But, darn, you gave my "secret" thought away. If I had it to do over again, then I would not upgrade to 19" wheels since neither BFG's or Nittos are available in 19." I would get 18" BBS wheels, which would be even lighter than my style 101's, and would have BFG's on my car at least some of the time. Actually, I am thinking of selling my 101's/PS2's if my warranty-replaced new PS2's don't hook up better than my old ones. Then, ....

Probably should have qualified my statement on the 4.17 M1.I was speaking from personal experience with my stock wheels and tires. With better tires(drag radials) I am sure the 4.17 is better.I think the ideal start would be with light torque braking, mash throttle to floor and get a slight hazing of the tires. With the stock setup I now have this method results in instant smoke.
