You may want to check with your dealer on that. Typically, incentives are offered to clear old model year inventory(i.e. my06). I just spoke with a business manager at the BMW dealer in our group and he said it was 2.9 acroos the board ex.M series, 3, and 7. Also, only 2006 models qualify. Promo ends Feb. 28 unless extended. Approvals good 31 days after submision.( i.e. end of March if submitted in feb). Hopefully your salesman was correct, but I would ask to speak with the business mgr to confirm. Please let me know what you find out
Chuck,

I apologize. You are correct...My dealer now indicates that the 2.9% is in fact only available on MY06's. This is after I sat down with the financing Manager for 30 minutes and told him several times I was ordering an 07.

Starting to get pissed at my dealership.

If u want, ask your dealer to check if there are any "ED pool vehicles" that might fit your specs, it'll speed up your Freimann pickup and redelivery time.

Yes it would be an 06 but at least you'd qualify for the 2.9 APR.

Hmmm...

Thanks...
Id much prefer the MY07. No 6 cd changer, aux input, comfort seats in sports pkg, night vision, and later year car. I have no problem waiting and don't need the financing but if offered at 2.9% id be crazy not to take it.

... Also remember that here in IL, we pay sales tax on the full amount of the car (purchased or leased)- so there is no tax advantage to leasing.
In most states, like Calfornia for example, the sales tax is based upon the monthly payment. This is much more fair than the Illinois approach which the full value of the car.

And again, leasing is only 100% assured to be a better option if you can write off the payment, because it's like getting a 30% refund.
No, not really. I thought this to be the case as well and have leased cars for the last 6 years. While the depreciation schedule is crap on cars, you do get to write-off the entire loss on the car when you "sell" it. So if in four years I sell my car for $40K but it is on the books for $60K, I take a $20K loss that year. Note that you have to "sell" it - you can not trade it in. If you trade it in, the book value of the car gets added to the new car. So in four years if I were to purchase a Honda Accord for $30K and I traded my 550 in, The value of the Accord would be $90K!!!!

If you want, PM me your email address and I will send you the spreadsheet they did for me.
