My Ride: 2006 Silver Grey 550i (est delivery 12/06)
Auburn / Poplar Interior / Anthracite headliner
M body aero kit/ sport/ sound/ comfort access/ comfort seats/ sunshade/ sat radio
Having driven this car for 3 days, I have to say I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
I had a 530i to drive around in and thought that was a nice amount of power and even thought the 550 might be too much but after cruising around in it and never really over 3000rpm, this car is so smooth. I love the hum of the engine on the highway. It just goes when you want it to go without hesitation. The runflats do roughen the ride but I can deal with that until I replace them when worn. The sat radio and the Logic 7 system really rock! the bass pumps.
Comfort seats are awesome and I think a must! Anthracite headliner just makes the car feel so rich. I don't know if I will ever be able to drive an off brand of car again!
Im having the ventureshield clear bra put on this Sunday. Will need to work on the radar detector, haven't figured out which one yet. Beltronics has a new STI Driver model coming out.
Well anyway, sorry for the stream of consciousness but I am just in love with the 550!

They are in my gallery at the bottom of my posts. I will try to take some pics of the interior soon.

I second your opinion. Love the Auburn with Antricite headliner. It completes the look. I just passed the 1250 mile mark today!

Congrats on the ride!
As far as a radar detector goes... I could only sing the praises of the Valentine 1. Having owned many diff types over the years and only getting a Valentine to go with my E60, I can only say... WOW... Now I "see" everything I used to "miss". (and usually from a long way off) I can only imagine how important that would be with the 550 vs my 525....
Besides, with the instructions/guide I found here on e60.net, I had it cleanly installed in about 5 min, using minimal tools and supplied connectors from Valentine.

I agree...There is no substitute for the Valentine 1...Worth every penny and then some...Haven't gotten a speeding ticket in any of my cars - M3, 540, and 545 since 1995 ...and believe me, I am a 'spirited' driver. To save a few bucks and go with anything less is foolish. You'll only end up paying the difference in speeding fines...
