Assuming all the talk regarding an '06 550 is correct, does anybody know if there are any body or style changes?

I am picking up an ED 545 at the end of April, and while the news of the bigger engine has given me a little pause, I still plan on getting the 545 (frankly the one or two tenths of a second 0-60 time difference does not matter to me); but the idea of major design improvements would trouble me.

Thanks.

MAJOR design changes will not be done on a "somewhen to come" facelift.

There could be problem with 4.4L enginer, so that's why they get rid of it in 7-series, and replace with 4.0 and 4.8L?
There will be absolutely no body change. Only face and butt lifts.

There are no problems with any of the engines. Certainly none that require a design revision. The current 4.4L V8 has been hauling ass in the 7 series for 5 years. They are just upping the ante thats all.

It's all about "face", or bragging rights. There is a misconception among general population that "bigger is always better" or more expensive.

Mercedes has the S500 and S430, so, how can 745i be compared against the prestigious S500 if it only had 4398 cc? That's why most magazine comparos use S430 against 745.
I think BMW hopes to equal Mercedes in the prestige department by augumenting its engine and nomeclature to be more competent against the S500.

There's absolute nothing wrong MECHANICALLY!! (my car is in the shop because I fried the I-drive at only 1,300 miles) with the 4.4L engine. Rest assured.
