Hey Guys, I'm new here so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct area.

I've been told that we should start sourcing winter tire packages soon. At least for those of us that got blessed with 2+ feet of continuous snow fall last year. Last year, the snow tires were all sold out by November and the prices hit the ceiling! Currently, at my BMW dealership in Waterloo, they are advertising a Winter package with the Style 138 17" rims & Dunlop SP Winter run-flat tires for $3,000 + taxes.

Here are my questions:
- is $3,000 CAD a good price?
- Has anyone purchased rims / tires from the US and imported to Canada? Are customs fees outrageous? How about shipping? What happens if you get a faulty tire?
- Does anyone in Canada have a used set of these rims / tires they want to sell?
- any ideas how I can save money on this?

I would like to stay with original BMW rims because I have an insurance policy with BMW Finance for up to 8 rims / tires as long as they are BMW certified. That means, if I puncture, scratch, damage, or experience a tire blow-out, they will give me a brand new tire or rim. I thought that was pretty cool considering a new Style 124 rim is $700 CAN and tires are approx $650+ for the run-flats. On my last car, I blew out 2 tires last month and cost me approx $700.

Any ideas / suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Hell no!!! never at dealer! don't waste your money! buy the winter tires with rims at www.tirerack.com they are the cheapest and ship to Canada very well. I bought my set of winter for $890 shipped. Yes Rims and tires together including free balance.

I strongly recommend to buy them in that website and you won't be disappointed.
