Gents,

I am over the moon that we have found and bought a really nice 545i for my wife. We have a little on the way, so it she decided to upgrade her 330ci.

My plan is to go for the M5 body conversion...Rest assured, I will not try and pass it off as a M5. I just love the look of it but could not justify a M5 for the wife...

As part of the conversion I want to get a quad exhaust that will fit the M5 rear apron. I really want to give the car a more muscular sound, a real V8 burble like the 645's. However, it must not be boomy at all and quiet inside the car. Any suggestions?? Any sound files?

Many thanks in advance.

If you live in So.Cal, there is a mod shop that does that and they do a great job!

Thanks for the kind words.

I should have said that I based in the UK. I am thinking of going with MStyle to do the conversion...

That B&B exhaust sounds cool...just the sound I am looking for. However, I don't think these are available in the UK. I also need a quad system that fits a M5 rear apron.

Is the 545i gonna be your wife's or yours?
It's just funny, in the way you started your post with a liitle one on the way - thought you would start talking about baby seats and the like.....
....you my friend are real BMW fan !!

I really love this forum.....

On the serious side :
You will have a limited choice of true quad setup. The only one I'm aware of is Racing Dynamics or custom made from Mstyle.
However Eisenmann have a full EU homologation - non quad, but nice sound.

b&b won't be quiet inside the car < 2k rpm.
remus and eisenmann are quiet enough.
the eisemann is one of the quietest mufflers for 545 and is probably the closest you'll get to a stock 645.
my 545 w/ remus is louder and deeper than a stock 645.
if you want real v8 gurgle, you might have to replace the resonators with straight pipes. will be louder though.

I am buying the car 'for my wife' Truth is she couldn't care less if it was a 520 or a 545! The best bit is that I will also get to drive it, and with the baby on the way, that should be quite a lot...

Thanks for the suggestions. As I may well get MStyle to do the entire conversion, I think it makes sense for them to do the exhaust too.
