Who do you think would win? Ik I would get smoked from light to light because of those damn turbos, but what about the highway?

545i would win, more HP and torque.

With a $300 tune a 535i will beat a 545i along with 550i.

I believe the 545 and 550 can also be tuned, no?

Twin turbos are the best tunable engines (n54) - you can produce 50-60hp extra easily.
So basically a well tuned 535i can smoke a non-tuned 550. Some numbers: http://www.bimmerfes...95&postcount=61

Back to topic, the 545 will mostly kick a stock 335 in the butt.

Can we please only compare apples to apples.

Stock vs. Stock.

It's kinda retarded to start bringing mods in. "With a $300 tune..." "But my 550 can be tuned to do..." "Yeah but my 535 with bigger turbos can do..."

Now if you're going to compare head to head mod to mod and make it detailed go right on ahead. But if this is going to be a hypothetical conversation. It's a waste of time IMO.

The 535i does the quarter mile .1 or .2 slower than a 550i.
The 50hp - 60hp increase in the V8 is offset by the additional weight.

The 535 will definitely not get "smoked".

Meh, I think it should be taken into account though, especially when the upgrade is relatively inexpensive.

My point exactly, hence the comment of a "$300 tune". Glad someone else understood my point.

Um, fellas, er, uh the op's title is 545 vs 335, not 535. The 335 will win, especially considering most 545s should have more miles on the drivetrain if standard/usual averages are factored in.
