545i Very Strange Issue... Please help

All cleaned up and ready to go with no errors. Glad the DME cloning went well. Hope I never have to deal with that crud again.

so all your issues were due to fuses missing/bad?

Actually yes. One fuse wasn't burt, but rather cracked and very hard to tell it was bad.. And onother was non existent... Seems I put it into the adjacent unused slot.

Putting one in the wrong place dont surprise me... I just had to replace the dme because the pin controlling the fan was corroded and I had pulled every single fuse prior to finding the issue. If I recall, it was 104 degrees in TX that day.

great to see your issue was solved. did you use a used DME? i'd be interested to know what coding was required to switch DMEs.

I found a guy on youtube from Dallas that was doing DME cloning... I sent him my original dme, used dme from ebay ($100), the CAS module, and the keys to the car. He 'Cloned' the dme, set the vin and some rolling code matched to the keys and cas.. About all I know. I received it all back and everything works just fine. Cloning cost me $240, so $340 total with used dme.
