I'm a fortunate bimmer owner. My indy shop is a high-end Euro tuner, and their head mechanic is always open for me to bounce stuff off of...
I discussed it with him and the owner (my buddy) and we decided we were going to handle it this way:
1) Trans update. 2-1 "step-in" procedure. This will basically trick the DME to start at 2nd gear. I would still have the issue when downshifting into first.
2) Determine if we can find the solenoids individually. Still working on that part.
3) Replace the sleeve outright. My buddy owes me a little shop time from the last coding job I did for them (I am really lucky to be able to trade coding for shop-time), so he is going to do the sleeve and trans refill on the house. I ordered the sleeve today.
If none of those 3 rectify, or if we can't find the right solenoids for sale individually-I will be buying a refurb mechatronic unit. I'll keep the thread updated with progress. It's going in on Tuesday. We'll be coding it Wednesday with either their AutoLogic or ISTA/P .

I've been looking at getting those for a week or so. But like I said, the model # for my trans, isn't on their site. I dont want to buy the wrong parts. I have a "GA6HP-26Z"
