Pull the plastic cover off of the positive cable running through there

and have a supply of a lot of extensions / universal joints so you can snake it down in there and still have the wrench away from the crazy tight area

oh, and the coil is the hard part, but there is enough room to barely squeeze it out if you get the battery cable cover out of the way.
I didnt need to take off air filter housing at all only thing i removed was the battery cable cover. Job is ALOT easier then I thought...

Yeah when I read some of the DIY's saying it took like 4-6 hours I was expecting a lot worse too.

Yep, cabin air filter housing is optional, but made it a little easier on me and was easy enough to remove

Thanks for all the replies. I was able to replace plug 8. I didn't have time to replace plug 4. Can you elaborate on what you mean by removing the battery cable cover? I saw it on one of the DIY's but wasn't clear on what exactly needs to be removed. I undid the one plastic nut that holds the cable but was unable to move anything out if the way. When I open the battery positive cover I see a 13mm bolt. Do I need to remove that?

If you follow the battery cable from the positive jumper terminal. There's a thin black cover that bolted on to the car with a plastic nut. Once you unscrew it you can remove the plastic piece it was holding. You cant miss it, I remember seeing a post where someone didn't have one that might be your case but I doubt it.

I'm going to tackle plugs in mine soon. Hopefully I won't run into issues.

Quarta2six,

Thank you for the info! I will try to tackle cylinder 8 tonight as time permits. Other than undoing the one plastic bolt, is there anyhting else I need to remove? Once the bolt is off the whole bracket will come out?

Just ordered my plugs from Amazon for $40 for 8. The rebate states I should get $3 per plug for a max of $24. So final cost should be $16 for all 8 plugs!!! Awesome!!! Thanks for posting this deal.
