My 545 has been at the dealer for 3 days because I keep getting the "Service Engine Soon" yellow light and the CID message "Increased Emission". The problem occured 7 times in 3300 miles including when I picked the car at the factory! This typically happens after I have driven the car for 2+ hours and the indicator dissapears after the engine has been cooled for 24hrs. I did 4 dealer visits for this problem, they updated the DME software but aren't getting anywhere. Anyone else with this problem?

do a search, because I recall seeing others with this issue and if I remember correctly, it was easily fixed with a software upgrade.

I had service engine light came on 2 times. What I did is make sure the fuel cap very very tie every time i fill up gas. I also did software upgrade to 12.x (not sure what version I have, but my RDS is no longer there and AC icons are gone).
After that, my "service engine soon" problem seems fixed.

I have been having sort of the same problem, It started out doing it once in awhile and then kept doing it more often and then it started saying to shut the car off imediately. They gave me a 745i for a loaner. If it doesnt stop happening by 3 times, i will do the lemon law, i love the car, but hate the problems

Has it happen once and they told I must not have tightened the gas cap. Code was reset and has not happened again in almost 9 months.
