I have a quick question... I will be replacing my front pads and rotors in the near future and noticed that my oem rotors have what look almost like round magnets all the way around the hub. Most of the aftermarket replacements including the nice ones I have found through this forum seem to lack these. Are these part of some monitoring system particular to the sport package or just some manner of manufacturing not at all related to system/speed monitoring?

That's a negative. The rivets don't have anything to do with car's monitoring system nor performance. I have aftermarket rotors and pads and they brake just s well if not better without all the brake dust.

The factory has rivets because the hat is aluminum to save weight.

Aftermarket hats are the same metal as the rotors, so no need to make them two piece rotors.

Unfortunately for the weight savings you swear the factory ones were made of gold, as they do not cost the same.

I just checked those out... they look pretty nice, but I think I am going to go with the R1 concepts that Michael from AcutePerformance sells. There have been a lot of reviews on this forum where many members seem to love them and the prices are great. Now I am just going back and forth on the eline or premiums, decisions!
