Does anyone know if the 545i is still in production? If not what years was it available?

Assuming this isn't a joke, the answer is no it is not still in production and has not been since 2005.

Def not a joke I just bought one yesterday and I'm just trying to learn the history of this particular model. It seemed at first it may have only been in production as a 2004 model. How many years WAS it produced? AND Why was it discontinued?

Do you know WHY it was so short lived? Could it possibly end up a collectors car since it was only available such a short time?

NO way. 4 door sedans NEVER become collector cars. MAYBE, a definite MAYBE, for the 645i...

After 2005, it became the 550i when the 4.8L V-8 engine replaced the 4.4L. That's all.

Check out Wikipedia

Here is my favorite review of the 545i from Car and Driver

Sorry I don't.

Funny you mentioned collectors car, because when I bought mine (July '07) that very same thought crossed my mind let alone my first bimmer, my first V8, etc. Not sure about this but almost any car with very short a production time ends up a "collector" car. We can only hope
