I finally received the production number from my dealer.
Checked the status on BMW Owner's Circle : it's on order.

Can't wait. Does anybody know how much time it takes to go into production?

Thanks.

I would around 2 months after start of production, maybe less since you are on East Coast. My car is just about 2 months.

Mine took about 2 weeks before the status changed to "Scheduled for production" and a Vin number was assigned. Remained like in this status for another two weeks before it said "In Production". Ordered mine Dec 31st, was delivered to the dealer Feb 24th, picked it up Feb 26th. The timeline may be different now.

Sometimes OC may not have the right status. Mine said "At final processing center" (this is before it gets to the dealer) even though I had picked the car up.
I've heard folks here say you should call BMWNA Customer Service to get a better status - I never had a chance to call them.

I ordered on January 4, 2005, took delivery on February 11th, that I believe is faster then most, but good luck. The 800 number provides more up to date info then the website, and actually speaking to someone rather then the voice prompts provides more detail. It will be worth the wait.

Thanks.
My dealer says that my status is approx. 5 weeks not including prep time for delivery which takes about a week. Total waiting time for pick-up : 6-8 weeks.
Sounds too fast.
