Anyone have complaints or problems about 545i stick shift?

If you have it do you think you'd rather have had a auto/steptronic?

I have the steptronic and I really like it. I tried the SMG, but found it distracting from the drive experience. I've had it in a 530 and a 545. I don't think I would opt for SMG.

I love my 6 speed. I would not trade it for any of the other trannys.

I have had one complaint since delivery. Depressing the clutch while moving in 1st gear causes the transmission to hit the side of its housing. This also happens sometimes when turning off the engine. I have shown it to the shop foremans of the two dealers that have ever worked on my car, BMW Roma in Italy and Bob Smith BMW in So. California. Both say that it is normal. I would rather not hear it from my $64K Ultimate Driving Machine.

Other than that its silky smooth and mated to the V8 is just a joy. I just wish we had less traffic in Los Angeles.
