So over the past couple months there has been this crazy loud rattle sound from the passenger side of the engine. When I start the car up the noise isn't there but once the car warms up the noise gets louder and more frequent. It sounds almost as if theres a bad bearing somewhere. If i touch the accelerator while parked the noise gets louder as the rpms go up. Any suggestions on what this could be? Thanks for your help.

Passenger side possibilities external to the engine are water pump, AC compressor, power steering pump, belt tensioner or idler pulleys. Sound reflections in an engine compartment can be confusing. And there are also the rotating components internal to the engine you may be hearing.
Any change in performance or oil consumption?

Sounds like it could be the disa motor. Not sure about the 545, but on the 550i there are 2 of them for either side of the engine.
Usually, it will be completely broken apart, and the noise you hear is the plastic part of the motor hitting the intake manifold.
The disa system is part of the Variable intake. Very common failure point on the e60, and it will not throw an engine code.

Buy a can of pulley lubricant (eg garage door pulley lubricant etc). Spray a good amount at/inside the belt tensioner (adjacent to water pump) and spray inside idler pulley (just below alternator). Worked for me. Good luck
